Weekend vibes

We had such awesome weather this weekend!  B and I drove all over town running errands yesterday, one stop being a bike shop to fix B’s tires. I was super impressed – the place was so busy!  I really thought we were going to be the only people there but we had to wait to be helped, which was not what I was expected at all.  Sounds weird, but it was a really cool experience, I can’t explain it. After I was done cooking today, I sat in the sun for a minute and ended up falling asleep for about an hour. Ooops, I’m a little burnt now. No doubt I’ll be peeling this week.

So, I started using Walmart’s grocery pickup.  I have to say I was really blown away.  I’m not really a Walmart type of person, but one of my New Year’s resolutions was to get my finances under control.  I LOVE grocery shopping, but I’ll admit I never stick to the list, and I get too tempted browsing the aisles and end up buying things with grandiose ideas of things I’m going to try.  So I end up spending way more than anticipated and put a big dent in my budget.  I’ve been comparing prices of the basic items that I need to stock my pantry, and came across Walmart pickup. I ordered Friday night to pick up first thing Saturday and it was so easy, I loved it!  I still made a stop to my grocery store to get my meat and vegetables (because I don’t really trust someone else picking that out for me), but for basic pantry items, I highly recommend it.

This week’s lunch meal prep includes:

Greek chicken, eggplant, fennel, and zucchini
Turkey sausage with honey roasted sweet potatoes, Brussels, and turnips
Garlic lemongrass meatballs banh mi bowl with pickled carrots and red onion
Steak satay with broccoli (and Asian noodles, for some)
Ginger glazed pork with roasted asparagus, snap peas, and carrots
